I added a handful of cards to the collection in May.
I had been eyeing Bob Feller cards for my 1952 Topps. Even though I’m working on a low grade collection I wanted some of my favorites to have great eye appeal. I think I accomplished this goal with a Feller I purchased via eBay. The card is trimmed, making it look great while being relatively inexpensive.

Progress was made towards completing the 1993 refractor set with the addition of eight new cards. All are graded by Beckett or PSA with numerical grades ranging from 7 to 9. Seven of these were obtained via eBay from a nearby collector who is breaking up his own set. I’m particularly pleased to come across the Wil Cordero card as it can’t shake a reputation for being a short print (it’s not) and is usually snapped up by others.
The eighth card portrays Red Sox RBI-man Mike Greenwell and was discovered in an somewhat obscure online auction. There wasn’t much interest among the bidders in the handful of refractors on offer, resulting in single-digit prices for some cards.
With these eight cards my ’93 refractor set improved to two-thirds complete. Conditions range from 7 to 9.
